Joke of the Day

A man died and went to Heaven. As he stood in front of the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, ‘What are all those clocks?’

St. Peter answered, ‘Those are Lie-Clocks.

Everyone on earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock move.’

‘Oh’, said the man. ‘Whose clock is that?’ ‘That’s Mother Teresa’s’, replied St. Peter. ‘The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.

‘Incredible’, said the man. ‘And whose clock is that one?’ St. Peter responded, ‘That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abraham told only two lies in his entire life.’

‘Where’s Winston Peter’s clock?’ asked the man.

Winston Peter’s clock is in Jesus’ office. … He’s using it as a ceiling fan.’

If there is a definition of freedom, it would be when you have control over your reality to transform it, to change it, rather than having it imposed upon you.

Existentialism. Existence comes before essence. Humans are thrown into the world, they exist and they must make their own life. There is nothing given.

Churning out what pleases

Welcome to tumblr, Lindsey said. It’s always nice to receive a warm welcome to a site that you don’t really know too much about. I am a first time user of tumblr, and by the looks of things this won’t be the last time I sign in. I stumbled upon the site through Mathew Buchanans blog, and didn’t really my first impression was that it was a spin-off of the many other free online blog services available to users worldwide. Little did I know that signing up, which took no less than 10 seconds, was going to open my eyes to a whole new world of content sharing.

Since signing up I have discovered the tumblelogs, a very useful tool in finding things of interest, to the not to interesting – but that my friends is the joy of internet browsing, is it not.

In chronological order, I am tempted to post something, to let the tumblr people know who I am and realised the array of posting options available.  We can either post text, photos, quotes, links, chat, audio and video. Recapping on just this feature itself, and comparing this to my needs as a user these options are invaluable. My passion and hobby is photography so, posting the odd photo with the easy to use feature is useful. I spend a lot of time listening to radio broadcasts, recordings, and also more often than not watching videos on YouTube. Having tumblrs video post, preview my favourites is even better.

Then we move on to accessibility. This for me is what sells. In todays ever changing world, a service that is accessible across a variety of different mediums is what I encourage for any free service provider. Making use of the different mediums is also a bonus, because why else would you decide to take your mobile or iPhone along to a stag party in the hope of not getting any “juicy stuff”? Plain and simple really. Posting photos from your devices wont be any easier.

With all these features, and possibly more to come, there is possibly no excuse not to be a member of this movement. I’m sure there will be more improvements, and suggestions from fellow users, because what else would you do for a service that is free and easy, but otherwise want to make it better?

Here is the start to many more posts to come, and no, no solely of praises for tumblr but, consider my space a place where churning out what pleases me is paramount. After all, who cares if no one reads or comments, right?

Happy posting!
